Gender: Female- Shakira and Rihanna


Shakira and Rihanna are both represented in the music video as highly sexual individuals as they are shown with no clothes or hardly any clothes on throughout the video.
The music video begins with Shakira lying on  a bed, staring at the camera singing, with 'come to bed eyes'. A close up of her touching her inner thigh is then shown which portrays Shakira as a highly sexual individual. The camera then moves close up to show an image of her breasts being revealed through the top of her lingerie, this sort of creates an image of 'you can look, but you cannot touch' which frustrates and also excites the male audience.
Shakira is also pictured wearing a bright red and very revealing dress, the colour red here highlights the sexual and passionate theme of the video, but could also portray Shakira as a dangerous female who is trying to scare off men.
The two girls in the video Shakira and Rihanna also go against the female stereotype of being glamorous and pure as they are seen smoking a large cigar throughout the video, which is what is usually expected of men and not women.
